Teaching MBA students about equity comp

Yesterday I was back at Harvard Business School to debut a case on equity compensation and financial planning that I wrote with Sara Fleiss and Emily McComb!

Through the classic Socratic method of learning, students discussed trade-offs and "watch outs!" associated with exercising NSOs, holding/selling RSUs, and hiring a financial planner. It was fun!

We also chatted about my (non-linear) journey into financial planning, which started when I was in tech and had various equity grants myself. Problem was: I could not find anyone who could help me 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙯𝙚 around my options and shares.

I was looking for a niche expert in private-company equity comp who also understood my Millennial tendencies. I couldn’t find that person.

So I launched Presidio Advisors, which (surprise!) is focused on tax-efficient financial planning for Millennials with equity comp.

🥂 to continuing to help others gain clarity and confidence around their equity comp and path towards financial independence.

More good things ahead!
